Family Visit!

This past week my sister and her husband came to visit us. We were so glad to have them here. We went to Shreveport, Louisiana one day and then to Dallas one night for a Maverick's game and spent the night down there since it is a few hours away from us and the game didn't get over until almost 11:00. We were able to take them to a few different states they had never been before: Texas, Arkansas, and Louisiana. We took a picture by all of the state signs.

On our way to Shreveport for the outlets!!!

Flipped a u-turn to get the other sign.

So, I set the timer on the camera and was a little rushed for time and in the excitment of trying to jump on Chris's back, I just about took both of us out - it gave us a good laugh!

Eating some lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings in Shreveport.

Us riding the trolley at the outlet mall.

The three hour ride back home from Dallas.

The three hour ride getting to us and making us crazy!

Josh and Michelle we are so glad you came to visit us; we had a great time!!!

Having Fun Decorating

So, the past couple of weeks, I have really enjoyed making decorations for our house. A couple months ago, we got some new black leather couches that we absolutely love and that is where the decorating fun began. We have decided to go all red, black, and white - we absolutely love it!!! As many of you know, we have had a John Deere kitchen since we got married and we are now out of that phase and ready for something new. We have also upgraded from a Queen bed to a California King bed about 1 month ago...Chris no longer has to hang off the bed to sleep. So that worked out perfectly because of course we needed new bedding and it was just perfect timing to find something to match with our new decor.

I am kind of decorating as we go so once I get some more craftiness flowing through me and start decorating our kitchen and dining room, I will post more pictures. Many of you have been asking when I was going to post some pictures of our new place now that we have decorated so this should hold you for a while. :)

Super Bowl Party

This was our first year to have our own Super Bowl party at our house. Normally, we always go to someone else's house for it. We just had a few of our friends over that we have met through the program Chris is in. We started a little early and played Rock Band and then at half time it was time for a little more Rock Band. None of us really cared who won the game or really even care much about Football, but it was a good excuse to get together and have a party and eat some good food! We had so much food - Chicken salad croissants, pizza rolls, vegetables and dip, chips and dip, 7 layer bean dip, deviled eggs, and lots of candy - but that is half of what parties are all about and great company. :) Chris was excited because he always wanted to have a party of our own for the Super Bowl.

Breakfast Surprise

This morning my wonderful husband surprised me and cooked me breakfast. I woke up really early and couldn't sleep anymore so I got up and came in the living room and read so I would not disturb Chris and he could keep sleeping. Around 9:00, I decided I couldn't wait anymore and wanted to get in the shower. I still didn't want to wake Chris up so I just took it in our guest bathroom so he wouldn't hear me. When I got out of the shower, I came out of the bathroom to find our bedroom door open and him no longer in bed. The kitchen light was on so I walked in there and found him making french toast. It was so sweet and very tasty too! Below is a picture of the delicious breakfast he prepared. Just be glad we were not in the picture because he had some major bed head and I had a wet head and no makeup....scary!!!

Thanks Babe...you are the best husband ever!!!

Christmas Banquet

Last night our church had a Christmas dinner banquet that Chris and I went to and it was so much fun. It was a black tie event and we had some really wonderful food. I think the last time Chris and I got dressed up and went to dinner was probably back in high school for prom so we had a lot of fun with it. My husband looked mighty fine if I say so myself!! Here are some pictures of us before we headed out for our big night.

Which do you prefer?

So, Chris and I are wondering which you prefer? We personally are loving Texas right about now. I always get a weather update from all of the wonderful people I use to work with at Conservice. They always chat me on google and tell me what I am missing. :) One of my friends from work, Megan, was even kind enough to take a picture so I could see it. Thanks to her I have the picture to compare to our picture. Thanks, Megan!

Utah Weather

Texas Weather

So, what do you think? All white, cold and snowy or all warm and sunny?

We truly do not know how we are going to survive when we arrive back in Utah on the 24th. We have become so use to the weather out here and enjoy it quite thoroughly!!!

Thanksgiving Weekend

We had such a good Thanksgiving this year. My cousin and her husband live in Oklahoma, only about 5 hours from us, and we went to their house this year. They are from California and her husband is finishing up his last year in college and it would have been their first year by themselves for the holiday, which worked out perfect for us because it would have been our first year alone too! My cousin and I grew up in Cali together until I moved away when I was 16 so we are way close and had way too much fun! Here are some pics of our fun weekend!

We got started in the kitchen Wednesday night and Chris and Scott started on Rock Band. :)

Before and After pictures...we were very proud!

Thanksgiving Dinner and games

Just Hanging out!

Thanks, Scott and Nicole for letting us come up and spend Thanksgiving with you. We are counting the days until you come out to visit us over Scott's LAST Spring break! Yeah, only about 6 months left of school!

Lola

Last week Chris was out of town on business from Monday to Friday and I was stuck here by myself. :( Chris went to Southern California to an Army base near Barstow. I missed him so much while he was gone, but I did have a little companion - a little Yorkie named Lola. All of the nintey something students that are in the program had to go on the trip so I watched one of our friends dogs for her. She is so cute. Here are some pictures of my little companion.

She was sure fun to have around and kept me occupied. I gave her a bath and did her hair. :)She sure didn't like it when I had to work though. Sometimes, I would have to stick her out on the balcony because she was whining and barking at me for me to play with her. The first day I could trick her into going to do things, but then she got too smart and was at my heels every second. She did sleep with me and she kept me company, but I must say I was glad once Chris came back home and I was back to my original bed partner.

Date Night

Chris and I had a date night on Friday and we had so much fun. Chris always gets off at noon on Friday's so I took a half day so we could get started on our weekend early! :) We went to see a movie called Fireproof, it was very good! Then after the movie we went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner. Neither of us had ever eaten there and we decided it was about time to give it a try. It was pretty good, although we think we liked this other place up here called SaltGrass a little bit better. But we will definitely go back I am sure. The only thing that was horrible is when we were waiting to have our number be lit up so we could be seated at our table, we were sitting next to a family who was letting their little girl go through the bucket of peanuts and suck on the shells or bite into them and then spit the shells back into the bucket. We were getting so disgusted and annoyed with the family for allowing her to do that, but whatever! Common sense says perfect strangers do not want your kids germs. Needless to say, we were not eating out of that bucket!
