When Will the Packing End?

Chris and I spent all day today trying to get the rest of our house packed. Today we tackled the kitchen and it took so much time and energy. We are no longer eating at home because everything that would be used to cook is no longer something we are able to get to. Not too bad though because we are headed down to Ogden tomorrow evening to go to dinner with Chris's cousin and then we are going to spend the night because Chris's dad's side of the family has a going away get together planned for us the next evening. Then before we head home we will pick up his grandpa's truck so we can get the moving trailor on Friday and pack it up and be ready to head out early Saturday. Busy, busy, busy. Tonight, we took a break from packing and Chris's mom and her husband Brian took us to dinner at El Toro - it was very good. Thanks mom and Brian. Then we came back and packed some more and it was so embarassing because our house is a disaster with boxes everywhere and someone came to look at our house to rent. I was so ashamed to let them in and see our house and Chris and I did not look so great either all dirty and exausted looking. Oh well, what can you do when you are in the middle of a move? I must say the packing part does not make me excited to move four more times.

First Day Off of Work

Today, Chris and I spent most of the day shopping for summer clothes since we don't have nearly enough clothes that will bear 90-100 degree weather. It was fairly successful, but we will definitely need to shop outside of the valley as well. This evening we went to Chris's parents to drop off my car; they bought my car from us a couple of weeks ago, but said we could keep it until we moved. With Chris and I both being off of work this week, we decided we didn't still need the second car so wwe went ahead and gave it to them a little earlier than they were expecting. It was kind of sad since it was the first and only car I purchased myself. On Saturday, Chris and my dad spent about 9 hours doing some work on the car to get it all spiffied up before we gave it to his parents. Below is a picture of them with it all apart making some progress. And then there is a sad picture of me with my car for the last day at his parents house before turning over the keys and car title. :(

Saying Our Goodbyes

This past week has been full of telling people bye. Today, was our last Sunday at our church and we had to tell our friends and pastors bye knowing it will be a while until we see any of them again. Below is a picture of Chris and I with our pastor and his wife, Dane and Bev. We love you guys!

On Friday, Chris and I both told all of our friends at work bye since that was our last day for both of us. Both of our jobs surprised us with a going away potluck/party on Thursday, that was very nice and totally not expected. Below are a couple of pictures of my friends at work the day of the potluck - we had taco salad - yummy!

I am going to miss all of my friends from work, but at least in a month, I will still be working for Conservice from home and will still be able to have contact with all of them! :) Chris doesn't ever take too many pictures so we don't have any to post with his work. This next week or two may be pretty busy with packing and cleaning so I don't know how much I will be able to post in the next little bit. I will try to do as much as I can when I get some free time.

Last Haircut! :(

Well, I just got back from my last haircut with the best hairstylist ever. I am so sad because my hairstylist, Heather, does an amazing job and I have been going to her for almost 2 years now. I am so not looking forward to finding someone new. Chris is lucky, he will never have to worry about finding someone new. Too bad I can't do my own hair, however that would be quite a disaster! I had to get a picture of Heather so I can remember who gave me the best colors and cuts ever. I actually work with her at Conservice...she is just a crazy one and has like 2 or 3 jobs at a time. I don't know how she does it. Thanks Heather, you can bet if I am in town, I will be looking you up for an appointment. :)

Happy and Sad Day!

Well, the mixed emotions of moving are setting in - so excited to begin something new, but sad having to say bye to friends and family and having to leave our familar surroundings. Today, Angela and I went to lunch one last time together. :( We went to Firehouse Pizzeria and had a good time and the food was delicious as always. Luckily, since I will still be working for Conservice, we can still keep in touch through our instant messaging as well as our blogging - so glad she got me hooked on the blog. Luckily, Angela is a bold person and didn't mind asking the waitress to take a picture of us...I am such a chicken so Angela acted like it was her camera. Thanks, Ang!

When I got home from work at the end of the day, I noticed the For Rent sign was up at our house...so sad to know that we will only be here for about another week and a half. We have enjoyed living in our cute little house...anyone who has ever been in my house or has just seen the outside, knows our house is tiny, but it was so perfect for us and we couldn't have asked for better landlords. We will be getting a major upgrade with our apartment in the size and newness department.

Chris called the utility companies in Texas and got them set up in our name for the first of July and called our utilites in Logan to have them being shut off as of June 30th, so it really is starting to set in. It is so weird to think that this is our last full weekend in Utah. We are heading down to Ogden on Friday the 27th and taking off early the next morning to begin our 24 hour drive...not too excited for that. Flying is so much better than driving, but it will give us a good opportunity to see some sites...hopefully it is not all flat and boring! Anything has to be better than the drive from Utah to Northern California, right?

Camping with the Fam

This past weekend my parents, Josh and Michelle, and Chris and I went camping down in Ogden at South Fork at the Meadows campsite. It was such a good time of relaxing and just hanging out. We went down Thursday night and left Saturday afternoon. We did some hiking, shooting, roasting around the fire, and just had a good time, unfortunately it was too cold to get in the river for rafting. The days were really nice weather, but the nights got so cold - down in the 30s. We had to bundle up really good in order not to freeze all night. Here are some of the pictures we took.

Chris taking some shots at a target.

Me taking some shots, it took me a while to get the hang of it.

My sister and Josh, she had no problems with the shooting.

Chris and I just hanging out.

My mom and I getting ready to have some lunch.

All of us just sitting around in the morning having a lazy day and waiting for it to warm up before we get in our clothes for the day.

We went hiking up to a waterfall and reached our destination. It was so pretty.

Chris and I at the top of the waterfall.

Saturday evening, after we got all unpacked and cleaned up from camping, we went out to one of my favorite restaurants in Ogden called La Ferovia (Italian). I went to cosmetology school with a girl whose family owned it. I recommend it to anyone who likes Itallian. Here is a picture of us at the Restaurant.

And last but not least, Sunday we celebrated Father's Day. We made our rounds and went to see Chris's dad, then went to my parents for our first little meal, and then off to his grandpa's for a second little meal. I tell you what, its taken some getting used to eating 2 meals for each holiday, but I wouldn't change it...this way we get to eat our favorites at each. Unfortunatley, I didn't have my camera with me on Father's Day so I didn't take any pictures, but my parents sent me one of us and my dad - and no we did not all plan the blue thing - great minds just think alike. :)

We Are So Blessed!

Well, everything has just fallen into place so perfectly for our upcoming move. The last thing we were waiting on was getting a place to live and we just found a place last Friday - such a relief! First, everything worked out so wonderful with Chris getting the job and being able to go to school to get his masters degree and have it paid for, then the company I work for asked me to stay on with them and work from home in Texas, also we were able to sell my car because we won't really need two cars anymore, especially two four wheel drive cars, then Chris's grandparents offered to go out to Texas with us and pull our U-haul trailer with their truck (truly a blessing!), and last but not least we found our apartment. It seems like it will be a wonderful place to live - they have 100% ratings and the management company seems great. We got a 2 bedroom, 2 bath place which will work perfectly for me to have an office for my work stuff. The apartment is really close to Chris's school, it has a fitness center and a pool (of course it seems like every apartment complex has pools in Texas so people don't die of heat stroke.)It is a fairly good size apartment and we are just so excited to begin this new adventure together. We couldn't possibly be more blessed, all of our prayers have been answered!

Four Wheeling Excitement

On Saturday, Chris and I and my sister Michelle and her husband Josh all went four wheeling at Monte Cristo Trails. It was so much fun. It was kind of a gloomy day and we got rained and hailed on, but it was such a blast! We bundled up real warm and made a day of it. We got so muddy and the four wheelers were a mess by the time we finished. I know we kind of look like nerds in all of our bundled up clothes, but everyone knows when you go four wheeling in the mud, it isn't exactly a beauty contest!

The start of the 4 wheeling trail we went on.

Chris and I taking a little break about a quarter of the way through the trail.

Josh and Michelle and Chris and I about half way through the trip stopped to pose for a shot.

Chris and I splashing through a huge mud puddle - it was so much fun!

The beautiful view looking out at the mountains, it was so pretty once the sun started poking out.

My sister Michelle and I just hanging out before we headed back down the hill.

Randall and Ashley's Wedding

On Friday night, Chris and I went down to Ogden for his cousin, Ashley's, wedding reception. She got married Friday morning to Randall and they had a reception that evening in Bountiful. Their reception was outside at the groom's parents house and everything looked so beautiful including the bride. Randall and Ashley looked so happy together. Below is a picture of Chris and I with the bride and groom before they headed off for their honeymoon.

Crazy Airfare

So, my friend is getting married in July and I am flying out to California to be in her wedding about 1 week after we get settled in Texas. So I bought my airline ticket about a month ago and thought I got a really good deal on the flight, however now American Airlines has decided to make passengers pay to check a bag. That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. I understand if airlines want to start charging for a second or third bag, but seriously charging for the first one? I kind of thought it was common sense that everyone travels with at least one piece of luggage and should be included in the airfare, but apparently I don't know much. Next thing you know, they will be charging us to go through the security gate. Can you tell I am a bit bothered by the whole situation? Anyway, I am so excited to go out for my friends wedding and see all of my family and friends. I wish Chris could come with me, but he starts school in July so can't make it. :( I have to be without him for a little over two weeks.

Four Wheeling Fun

This past weekend, Chris and I, my sister and brother-in-law, and my parents all had a bit of fun four wheeling. My sister (Michelle) and her husband (Josh) bought a 4 wheeler about a month ago and we were all riding around the other day. My parents live next to a big orchard field that has tons of bumps and jumps and stuff so we were having a blast. I am so excited because this coming weekend, Chris and I and Josh and Michelle are taking the 4 wheelers out for a day of fun. They are going to take us up some place they have gone a few times and really enjoy going to. I can't wait, we are both so excited. Hopefully, I can work on a bit of a tan while we are out! :)

Packing, Packing, and More Packing!

Well, Chris and I have been packing up our house like crazy and our house is turning into a disaster. Luckily, we have a floored attic where we can put all of our packed boxes so they are kind of out of sight and out of the way. This last month, I have a feeling things could get a bit stressful trying to make sure we have everything in order and we are prepared to move. Seriously, moving is a tiring thing to do. We spent one whole day packing last weekend! It sure made me sleep good, though. We are just trying to pack a little every night. I think our weekends are pretty much shot for packing because we are so busy this last month that we are here spending time with friends and family. Our house is looking so sad and bare though, we have taken most of our decorations down already and have packed them away. It doesn't even have our personality in the house anymore...I just have to remember it is just for a time and then I can have fun decorating our new home! :)I can't wait. We are so excited to move and start something new - of course we will miss our family and friends, but it will be such a wonderful experience and a once in a lifetime opportunity for Chris (and me).
