Summer Vacation to Utah

Finally this year Chris and I decided to get smart and visit Utah in the summer when there wasn't any snow and it was actually a very enjoyable trip. For once we weren't dying to get back out of Utah and away from the snow. We kept very busy and enjoyed hanging out with family! Our first night there we had a big family BBQ at my parents house. My grandparents were in town too so it was great getting a lot of the family together.

Me and my cousin Heather

Oh the joys of foil dinners...this time since there were so many my dad decided to just build a little pit to cook them on - love foil dinners!

Celebrating Father's Day and Shel's b-day!

Little Baby Reagan - my cousin had her baby while we were there. She was only 5 lbs and 13 0z and had a full head of black hair - so precious!

Back in Utah and have the deer right in your backyard

Family BBQ at Chris's dad's house - had a great time with all the family!

Lunch at one of our favorite restaurants...Costa Vida - man we miss this place!

Last night in Utah just hanging out at my parents and had a fire and roasted biscuits with honey butter, YUM!

Just some last minute family pictures before heading to the airport for our long trip back home.

Trip to Miami

Chris and I got to take a trip to Miami - he had to go there on business and so we decided to make a weekend of it and we drove down since it's only about 4 1/2 hours from us. Plus, living in Florida we have to be able to say we made it to Miami at least once. We had a great time, but I think we both decided we really like Tampa a little better.

They had so many of these crazy, twisty trees - they were pretty cool and very unique looking.

We went on a boat tour called Thriller - this speed boat goes up to 50 mph and it takes you all around the tall buildings where you can see all of the downtown area as well as a bunch of famous peoples houses. There was also a short time that we went out on the ocean - very fun!

Of course the beautiful palm trees, one thing I never get tired of seeing...that and the beach!

5th Anniversary

This past weekend on May 7th, we celebrated our 5th anniversary. Chris had flowers delivered to me that were the colors and some of the same flowers used in our wedding. I opened the door and immediately was reminded of our wedding, it was so sweet. And they came in this really nice decorative vase so even better for future decorating! We went to a local place here for dinner called Berns Steakhouse. It is a little older, but a very nice restaurant that is apparently a top spot for tourists to come to in Tampa. You have to dress nice so we had our first date night where we have had to dress up - after 5 years. It was fun, although the being waited on hand and foot at the restaurant is not normally our type of style, but it was fun for the night! I am so blessed to be married to such a wonderful husband! And of course we finished the celebration off at the Cheesecake factory! We had thought about taking a big vacation somewhere for our 5th, but then decided when you live somewhere as great as Florida, you don't have to go away to celebrate so decided to save that for another season of our life when we are not living somewhere so nice!

Get out those running shoes

This past weekend, Chris and I started training for our first ever HALF MARATHON race. We are absolutely loving it...time to get in shape!!! Can't wait until we can say we have run 13.1 miles. I know it's only been a few days, but so far so good with sticking to our training schedule! Another fascination we have right now is SMOOTHIES! Man, I love them - I crave one just about every day. We recently bought a magic bullet because we were buying smoothies so much and those things can get pricey. Chris has made some wonderful concoction's for us. My favorite is pomegranate/cranberry! YUM!!! Needless to say, we are trying to eat healthy and have a healthy lifestyle!
